1. The Door’s That Way
He invited me over so I assumed he was interested. How he was interested I was not sure, but the female in me was certain he thought it may have something to do with my mind at least.

1. Set Your Soul Free
In all honesty, our Peck was correct. Life is difficult.
I always thought that by 21 it would all be sorted out. The guy, the marriage, the kids, the job. In all honesty, I could not see what lay ahead of 21. I really and truly believed it would all just happen.
And then I turned 21. None of the items on the list were checked so I decided I had to begin creating what I wanted (Even though hindsight I had no clear cut goal or clue what that was.)
So I moved to England in 2000. I had four different jobs in the span of seven months. I was a waitress at Chilis, a saleslady at Gap, a customer services representative at M&S and then an admin assistant at the Royal Berkshire Fire Brigade. And God it was a lonely ride, my only companion a fresh loaf of bread that I kept in my bag for comfort food.
On a bus. To the airport. In a state of liminality. Love it.
Amy Winehouse is singing to me. I have access to the net and thoughts of being on Norwegian Air, heading north, to a place with fjords, rugged terrain and amazing chocolate.
I am really excited.
Have I mentioned how much I adore Norway?
Have I mentioned how much I love travel? In travel, all things seem possible.
Friday 29th April
Woke up this morning with a pounding headache. Not today, I thought! I’m about to embark upon one of the most exciting adventures of my life!
Within twenty-four hours I shall be writing to you from the Southern Hemisphere. I have been as far east as Japan, as far west as the US and Canada and as far north as Narvik in Norway, above the Arctic Circle – and now I’m plummeting South! How exciting.
But Oh God my head hurts, please make it go away.
I feel nauseas. I run to the toilet and… you can figure out the rest. This is not looking good.
Nonetheless, I am determined to get on that plane.
